Clean Login: Breakdown
Clean Login is designed to keep WordPress websites safe by offering multiple layers of security. It has specialized features to limit login attempts, block malicious IP addresses, and stop brute force attacks. It utilizes its own WordPress admin panel, where you can monitor and adjust security settings to best fit the needs of your website.
On the login page, the Clean Login plugin offers a two-factor authentication system which requires a One-Time-Password (OTP). This ensures that only the person who has the OTP is able to login to the website. The plugin also restricts login attempts to three per minute, so a malicious behavior will be blocked automatically.
Furthermore, Clean Login blocks suspicious IP addresses automatically. It maintains a blacklist of IP addresses that have engaged in malicious behavior or tried to access the website too many times. This helps ensure that any malicious IPs are blocked and prevented from making further attempts.
Lastly, Clean Login blocks brute force attacks. It works by keeping track of login attempts and using algorithm to block suspicious activities and patterns. If a malicious behavior is noticed, it will block all login attempts from that IP address. This way, brute force attacks can be prevented without placing an excessive load on the server.
