Attachments: Breakdown
The Attachments plugin allows you to easily upload and manage any type of file, including images, documents, PDFs, audio files, and more. When creating a new post or page, the plugin will appear as a media button in the editor, allowing you to select the file you want to attach. You can also drag and drop existing files from your hard drive into the Attachments window. Once the files are uploaded, you can rearrange the order in which they appear, add descriptions and captions, and adjust the thumbnail size.
In addition to the media button, you can also add files to posts or pages directly from the Attachments window. You can even attach files from different posts and pages and create collections. This makes it easy to quickly create a slideshow or other multimedia content.
The Attachments plugin also allows you to embed file attachments directly in posts and pages, as well as display them as a widget in the sidebar. This enables visitors to quickly access the latest featured files on your site, such as PDFs, audio clips, videos, or images.
The Attachments plugin supports a range of configuration options. You can enable or disable the media button, add a custom icon for each file type, create custom image sizes for thumbnails, and more. There are also advanced settings for displaying the files in post and page lists, as well as options for automatically embedding the files in posts and pages.
