Cyrlitera – transliteration of links and file names: Breakdown
The Cyrlitera plugin helps website operators to convert all Cyrillic characters in file names and links to the Latin equivalents. Once the plugin is activated, it will automatically apply the ISO9-95 standard for transliteration to the embedded text. This means that the Cyrillic words and phrases in the content of a website, as well as in the links and file names, will be converted to the Latin equivalents.
The Cyrlitera plugin also enables website operators to customize the relevant settings at any time. This can be done by accessing the Global Settings panel of the plugin and adjusting the transliteration rules. The various settings options available can be used to customize the transliteration process so that the website operator can achieve the desired results.
In addition, the Cyrlitera plugin provides website operators with the option to bulk-transliterate existing files and links by accessing the Bulk Transliteration panel of the plugin. This can be a helpful tool for website operators who have already added content to their websites and wish to convert the existing Cyrillic characters to Latin letters.
The Cyrlitera plugin also features a mechanism which helps website operators to identify and rectify any mistake which may have been made in the transliteration process. Through the plugin’s Reverted Links Search feature, website operators can view a list of the Cyrillic characters which were unsuccessfully transliterated to the Latin equivalents and take corrective action, if needed.
